Episode 7
The Map That Shouldn't Exist
Chester finds what he's convinced is a treasure map. Henrietta knows better. Neither is entirely right. A chaotic treasure hunt across Manila ensues.

Previously on Chicken Chronicles...
Chester's delivery service dream crashed spectacularly when he got lost in Manila's maze-like streets. But Henrietta was there to bring him home, teaching him that even failed ventures are worth trying when you have good people by your side. As they walked back through the market district, a crumpled piece of paper caught Chester's eye — a hand-drawn map with an X marked in red ink...
Episode 7: The Map That Shouldn't Exist
Act 1: The Discovery
Chester smoothed out the weathered paper on the market table, his eyes growing wider with each detail he noticed.
"Henrietta, look at this!" He jabbed a wing at the intricate markings. "This is DEFINITELY a treasure map!"
Henrietta peered over his shoulder, her expression skeptical. "That's literally just a receipt from Jollibee with doodles on the back."
"No, no, see?" Chester turned it upside down. "This squiggle is clearly Rizal Park, and this blob is... probably a landmark of some kind, and THIS—" he tapped the red X dramatically, "—is where the treasure is buried!"
"Chester, that's a ketchup stain."
But Chester was already hopping with excitement. "Think about it! Someone hid this map here for a reason. Maybe it's Spanish gold! Or a time capsule! Or... or a secret recipe for the perfect lechon!"
Henrietta sighed, recognizing that look in his eyes. "You're going to do this no matter what I say, aren't you?"
"Absolutely."
"And you'll probably get us both in trouble?"
"Most definitely."
She grabbed her sun hat. "Fine. But I'm bringing snacks. And common sense."
Act 2: The Hunt Begins
Their first stop, according to Chester's interpretation of the map, was a suspicious-looking tree near Intramuros.
"See? The map shows a tree with three branches!" Chester gestured wildly at a scraggly acacia with at least fifteen branches.
"Chester, that's not even—"
"ONWARDS!" He started digging with his feet, sending dirt flying.
An elderly human walked past, stopped, stared, then kept walking. Just another day in Manila.
Three holes later, they'd found: one rusty bottle cap, a vintage 1990s pager, and what appeared to be someone's lost retainer.
"Treasure!" Chester declared, holding up the pager.
"That's garbage, Chester."
"HISTORICAL garbage! To the next location!"
Act 3: The Market Revelation
By sunset, they'd dug seven holes across Metro Manila, accumulated a shopping bag full of random junk, and somehow gotten interviewed by a confused GMA news crew about "urban archaeology."
Henrietta sat on a bench in Divisoria market, exhausted. "Chester. We need to talk."
"Just ONE more spot, I promise! The map says—"
"The map is LITERALLY a Jollibee receipt. Look." She snatched it from him and pointed. "See? 'Chickenjoy - 2 pcs.' That's not a landmark. You've been following a ketchup smear around Manila all day."
Chester deflated like a punctured basketball. "But... the adventure..."
"Was fun," Henrietta admitted, softening. "Ridiculous, exhausting, and completely pointless. But fun."
"We didn't find any treasure though."
She pulled out a small paper bag. "We found this." Inside was a perfectly intact 1970s Chickenpie comic book — one of the items they'd unearthed under the Divisoria pavement.
Chester's eyes widened. "That's... that's rare! Collectors pay hundreds for these!"
"Exactly. Sometimes treasure isn't what you're looking for. It's what you stumble into while you're being an absolute disaster." She grinned. "Plus, we're probably going to be on the news tonight."
Chester laughed, the kind of full-body cackle that made his wattles shake. "We ARE pretty good at stumbling into things."
"The best," Henrietta agreed.
Epilogue: The Real Map
As they walked home through the market, Chester noticed something stuck to his foot — another piece of paper. This one looked official. Coordinates. A government seal. A date from 1945.
He looked at Henrietta.
She looked back.
"Don't even think about it," she warned.
"Next week?" he asked hopefully.
"...Maybe."
Next Week: The War Map
When Chester and Henrietta discover what might be a genuine World War II artifact, they're thrust into a race against time with actual historians, shady collectors, and one very determined National Museum curator. Sometimes the real treasure is historical responsibility. But mostly it's chaos.
